NIE is a co-operative effort involving newspapers working with local schools. Their common interest is the use of the newspaper as a tool for instruction. Under the NIE program, newpapers provide copies of newspapers to schools -- usually at half price -- for use in their classrooms or library.
NIE also sponsors teacher-education programs and offers curriculum materials to help schools use the newspaper as a meaningful resource for student learning.
The Sun currently has 288 NIE teachers, and we deliver over 10,000 newspapers to schools every week.
There are many benefits to becoming an NIE Teacher. Want to know more? Contact us for more information, or sign up today!
