The Yuma County Spelling Bee will be on Wednesday,
February 11, 2009, at the Yuma Theater in the historic downtown
area. The event will start with registration at 9:15 a.m. The Spelling
Bee will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the luncheon and awards presentation.
Please have your student at the Yuma Theater by 9:15 a.m.
Yuma must have your school spelling bee before Friday, January 30, 2009. Once you have your spelling bee, please come back
here to register your winner. Do not forget to submit a photo of
your winner.
The deadline for registering is 5 p.m. Friday,
January 30, 2009.
The Sun will be sponsoring a luncheon
for the spellers and reservations are not required. School coordinators and family will be charged for lunch and must make reservations. Please make sure to have reservations
made with The Sun for family members and friends prior to February 6..

That word won Robert A. Steen, a seventh-grader from Centennial Middle School, the applause of the audience and the championship title of the 62nd annual Yuma County Spelling Bee.
