The event was a double-elimination
event with each team getting at least two chances to compete.
The Sun will generate all Current Events questions. Each Thursday
beginning Febraury 8th, you will receive a box containing a newspaper
from each of the previous seven days for your team to practice with. The contest rules can be
found online here. Additional NIE
newspapers are available at a cost of only $.15 each by contacting
the NIE Department at 539-6806. Each school may field only one team. Team members
can be from the fifth and/or sixth grades only.
Winning students and coaches
will receive gift certificates from a local merchant, shirts,
ribbons, and a team banner.
